Maykestag Speedcut-Aluminium Solid Carbide End Mill 16mm Long Series
High-performance 16mm solid carbide end mill from the Maykestag Speedcut-Aluminium range, featuring a long-series neck-relieved design, three cutting flutes, Type W geometry and unequal 34°–38° spiral angles for efficient, smooth machining of aluminium and suitable non-ferrous materials.
The Maykestag Code 7950 Speedcut-Aluminium end mill is a high-performance solid carbide milling cutter developed for productive machining of aluminium and other suitable non-ferrous materials. This 16mm cutter combines a three-flute cutting geometry with generous flute spaces and unequal spiral angles between 34° and 38°. The geometry promotes effective chip evacuation while helping to reduce repetitive cutting forces and vibration, supporting a clean surface finish and stable machining at demanding cutting conditions.
The long-series, neck-relieved construction provides additional clearance behind the cutting section. On this 16mm model the cutting diameter is 16.00mm while the relieved neck diameter is 15.00mm, allowing the cutter to machine deeper profiles and walls with reduced risk of the neck rubbing against the workpiece. A precision 16mm DIN 6535-HB shank provides secure clamping in a suitable toolholder.
Built for aluminium machining: The Speedcut-Aluminium geometry combines Type W cutting characteristics, three flutes and generous chip space with unequal helix angles. Aluminium can produce relatively long, continuous chips, so maintaining free chip evacuation is particularly important. The Code 7950 geometry is designed to remove these chips efficiently while maintaining a smooth and stable cutting action.
Precision Made in Austria: Maykestag precision cutting tools are manufactured in Austria with carefully controlled carbide, cutting geometry and dimensional accuracy for professional machining applications.

Why Choose Maykestag?
Maykestag specialises in precision cutting tools for professional machining, with tool geometry developed around specific materials and production requirements. With aluminium machining, flute design, cutting-edge geometry and chip evacuation are especially important because poor chip control can quickly affect surface finish, cutting stability and tool life.
The Code 7950 range combines solid carbide construction with Maykestag's Speedcut-Aluminium geometry, unequal spiral angles and a neck-relieved long-series design. The result is a specialised milling cutter intended for productive machining where accuracy, reliable chip evacuation and a clean cutting action are essential.
Designed for Stable, Productive Aluminium Milling
The combination of three cutting edges and unequal 34°–38° spiral angles changes the timing with which each cutting edge engages the workpiece. This helps prevent cutting forces from repeating at exactly the same interval, improving cutting stability and helping suppress vibration. Together with the Type W geometry and generous flute space, this makes the cutter particularly well suited to productive machining of aluminium.
The relieved neck also provides useful clearance beyond the 32mm cutting length. With an overall relieved reach of 44mm, the cutter can work around deeper shoulders and profiles while reducing unnecessary contact between the tool neck and the workpiece. Correct spindle speed, feed rate, radial engagement and chip evacuation remain essential for achieving the best performance.
