Use P220 at the correct stage
P220 is intended for fine surface refinement rather than heavy stock removal. Where deeper scratches, thick filler or coating build-up must be removed, begin with a coarser abrasive and progress through suitable intermediate grits before finishing with P220 or finer grades.
