Meade #544 Viewfinder 8 x 50mm Blue Tube (without bracket) 07423 is supplied as standard equipment with current and past Meade LX200 telescopes . It is available as a replacement for a finder from these scopes that has been damaged in use or transit, or as an upgrade for the 6 x 30mm finder supplied with many Meade catadioptric telescopes , such as the standard LX10, an older 2080, etc.

Blue Tube #544 Meade Viewfinder's large 50mm aperture lets you find fainter deep space objects than a 6 x 30mm finder. With a limiting magnitude of 11, Meade 8x50mm Viewfinder 07423 picks up objects over one magnitude dimmer than a 30mm finder, making it easier for you to locate faint nebulas and galaxies. The field of view is 5 degrees wide and the eye relief is a respectable 12mm. There's a rolldown rubber eyecup for eyeglass use. 8x 50 mm Meade Viewfinder # 544 weighs 16 ounces, without optional finder bracket.

Finderscopes are essential in finding objects at low power for polar alignment or quick spotting, their basically like half a binocular. The user must properly align the finderscope to the eyepiece, so whatever you see in the finderscope, will be in the eyepiece.Once the object is found, use a low power eyepiece to refine the alignment.
